Bio

I’m Eileen, a recent Industrial Design graduate from Purdue University, now based in the Chicago area. I recently completed a year-long internship at General Electric Appliances, where I honed my skills and gained valuable experience. Beyond my work, I serve as Vice Chair for IDSA's Women in Design Chicago Chapter, actively contributing to the design community and fostering connections. My passion for Industrial Design is driven by a desire to enhance user experiences and promote sustainable practices. I am committed to making a positive impact through my work while staying true to my minimalist design aesthetic.

    • Support chapter leadership in planning and executing events, initiatives, and strategic growth efforts while assisting with administrative and financial matters.

    • Collaborate with the Chair to ensure smooth operations, step in as needed for continuity, and foster member engagement.

    • Strengthen partnerships and promote the mission of empowering women in design through community outreach and leadership.

  • June 2022 - June 2023 | Louisville, KY

    • successfully managed a full-time on-site twelve-month internship supporting multiple projects under various designers

    • generated product concepts for both large and small appliances, employing a range of techniques including sketching, low-fidelity mockups, CAD, rendering, and working collaboratively with the design team

    • led the implementation of comprehensive color, material, and finish (CMF) strategies, integrating trend forecasting to ensure alignment with future brand concepts while maintaining fidelity to the current visual brand language

    • created a knockdown headboard design and a user-friendly bed frame assembly

    • collaborated with the LumiSource team prioritizing seamless integration with the brand's overarching identity

    • pioneered innovative product concepts for Nerf blasters, with a sharp focus on optimizing ergonomics and enhancing the overall play journey for users

    • designed a groundbreaking small appliance for surface care, collaborating closely with a dynamic team of Purdue University student designers

    • my specific role on the student design team was to focus on form development and CMF refinement
